Isaiah 13-14 -- It Only Gets Worse

My commentary said some of these predictions came true between 609 B.C. and 539 B.C., yet much of it is yet to happen.  In every instance, God wins!  God takes His revenge on those who have trampled over the rights of others, and He takes down the proud.  God promises things we can’t imagine:  “I will make the sky shake, and the earth will be moved from its place.”

In all of this, God will work to see that every prophecy if fulfilled to the letter, at its proper time.  Then the whole world will know that the Bible, as God’s written word, has always been true and lacked for nothing!

Father, although the events of this world now seem to be headed in the direction of the end of times, and although the natural disasters we see happening every day are almost biblical in their magnitude compared to what we’ve witnessed before, they will be nothing compared to what You will do when You cause all these prophecies to occur.  Show Your might in this evil world, Father!
